Kingdom Hearts is an 3-D platformer action-RPG released for the Playstation 2 on March 28, 2002. It’s the first the game in the series and chronologically the 6th game in the story.

Sypnopsis

The game starts off with three friends: Sora, Riku, and Kairi gathering materials to build a raft in order to leave their home of Destiny Islands to explore different worlds. One night, mysterious beings attack the islands with Sora trying to locate his friends. He finds Riku being swallowed by darkness and by trying to reach him is granted a weapon known as the keyblade. Despite his best efforts, the islands are destroyed and Sora is sent to another world called Traverse Town. There, Sora learns of his role as the keyblade master from Leon (FFVIII) and Yuffie (FFVII) and runs into Donald and Goofy, who have been sent by King Mickey to find the key. The trio set off to different worlds to find their missing friends.
